In this video I’ll give you an easy to understand breakdown of what Facebook live is and show you how you can get started with it to start connecting with an audience instantly, build trust and generate sales faster than ever before. Stay tuned.
Hi, I’m Sara Nguyen your online marketing strategist, helping that coaches, consultants and creative pros build and grow their businesses using social media with ease.
So what is Facebook live? Facebook live is a live streaming tool brought to you by our friends at Facebook. It allows you to broadcast video using your phone to an audience on Facebook as raw and in the moment as you want from anywhere in the world as long as you have a strong internet connection.
The beauty of doing Facebook live lies in the amazing reach that live videos are currently getting in the Facebook Newsfeed particularly compared to other Facebook posts such as images and text status updates. So it’s a way of putting yourself out there and actually being seen so you can begin to market your message.
One of the biggest problems, many business owners have is that they don’t have enough customers and they don’t have enough customers because they don’t promote themselves enough for people to know that they have something to offer. Facebook live gives you the ability to promote yourself and connect yourself through the power of video with your potential customers.
Let’s have a look at how to get into Facebook live. You may already have access to it but you’re just not aware. To get Facebook live for business you need to have a Facebook page and the Facebook page’s manager installed on your mobile device either your phone or a tablet. You can download the Pages Manager from the app store or from the google play store.
Once you’ve installed the app if you haven’t already click on the app icon which looks like a little orange or brown flag. This will open up your Facebook page in the Facebook page’s manager. Then click on the live icon…it’s the image that has a little camera with an eyeball on it to start your Facebook live. And then you can write a little compelling description of what your Facebook Live is going to be about. You can also add some emoji’s for extra personality and once you are ready, click “go live”.
Your Facebook followers will typically get a notification when you’re live and that’s how quick it is to get up and streaming with Facebook Live.
People can see you and they can hear you and this is how you connect with your audience by sharing your expertise and information. To create value to help them solve their problems, move towards their goals or away from their pains. One of the great things about Facebook Live is that it doesn’t need to be perfect. People are pretty forgiving about Facebook Live videos as long as the information is good otherwise, they will tune out.
You also don’t need to have a massive following on Facebook live to make it really work for you because after you’ve broadcasted you can share your video to different Facebook groups, embed it to your blog and share it with other social media sites and you can even use Facebook Ads to get even more reach and more eyeballs seeing your content. At the end of the broadcast, you can add a call to action where you can tell people to take the next steps with you. Whether to sign up to your email list or book in for a free consultation or to buy your products, you can tell people how to work with you and add the link in the description for them to take this actual action.
At the end of the broadcast once you are done you simply click end and this will stop the live stream. Your Facebook Live broadcast will save to your Facebook page on the timeline and in the video section as well. If you have an iPhone you have the option of saving the video to your camera roll so you can download that video later and repurpose it. If you are an Android user this feature isn’t currently available at the time of this recording. But you can still download your video from your Facebook post.
And there you have it! A breakdown of what Facebook Live is and how to start using it for your business.
