In the early days of YouTube, it’s easy to feel impatient and crave “quick wins.”

You’ve invested money in equipment, time and energy in getting into creating content and learning new skills. So it’s natural to want to see results fast.
This is also not helped by hustle culture and all the marketing bros constantly telling us that we need to work harder if we’re not where we want to be.
But here’s a mindset that helped me stay on track when growth felt slower than where I wanted to be:
Every video you make is a lotto ticket.
But unlike an actual lotto ticket, this one keeps working for you.
Each video gives you another opportunity to be discovered. To connect with someone new. To create a ripple that turns into leads, clients, or unexpected opportunities.
Some videos gain traction straight away. Others might sit quietly for months, then suddenly start getting views. You can’t always predict which one will take off, even if you do all the right things.
That’s part of the YouTube game.
But it’s important you know that this isn’t about churning out hundreds of videos for the sake of it.
It’s not about buying the most tickets.
It’s about strategically putting your name in the hat and then actually hitting publish.
So yes, be thoughtful about what you create. Learn what works. Use data where you can. But don’t get stuck in endless planning or perfectionism either. Overthinking keeps more creators stuck than a lack of talent ever will.
The more high-quality content you publish, the more chances you create. Not for luck, but for real, compounding results.
If you’re feeling disheartened by slow stats, I hear you.
But I also want to remind you: each video is a step forward.
An asset that’s quietly doing its job, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
Keep going.
Future you will thank you for showing up.
