I feel that people constantly look at my subscriber count, and they don’t believe me when I say that I used to be shy and really awkward as a child. If I’m really honest, I’m still pretty awkward as an adult now. But younger me really struggled with self-doubt and had so many insecurities.
I found it nearly impossible to connect with people and I had so much anxiety. Looking back now, I can see that I was really harsh on my younger self. I was convinced I was too tall, too fat, had a weird-shaped head, crooked teeth. I really struggled in school with fitting in as well.
I felt that I didn’t fit in with any of the typical social groups. I was different, but I didn’t feel like this was a good thing, especially not as a teenager. Why am I bringing up my childhood issues with you? With all of my anxieties and insecurities, in adulthood, I was always behind the camera, behind the scenes.
That was where I felt most comfortable and where I felt I could add value. But I knew from the projects and the clients that I worked with just how incredible video was and what it could do to build connections with people and grow a small business.
I decided to negotiate with my anxious self to give video a shot. Truly, it became my tool for self-expression, knowledge sharing, and it really was a creative outlet that I had longed for. Youtube became my sanctuary, allowing me to share what I’ve learned about topics I’m passionate about and to turn my dream of making a living from this into a reality.
Since I started uploading, it’s cliche’, but it really has changed my life. I’ve helped so many others along the way: little old, self-conscious, introverted, awkward me. The exact life that you want is out there too.
I might not be able to solve all the problems in the world, but I can solve one of them for you, which is how to use YouTube to reach people with your content and grow your business and to do it in a way that is authentic to you.
I’ve already helped other aspiring creators do it. Take, for example, one of my amazing students who recently took the leap and put up an offer on her website for a coaching program. Now, her YouTube audience has something to buy from her after watching her videos. Talk about a game-changer.
To think that she really didn’t have to do that much more work to monetize YouTube for her. She had an idea for her audience. She had a niche in mind. She just needed a way to get YouTube working for her, and that’s where I come in.
The best part is that once the offer was developed and up on her website, the foundation to make money was there, and she could focus on the YouTube content machine side of things. Now, anytime someone comes to her YouTube channel and consumes her fabulous content either this month or next month, you get the picture, they’ll be redirected to her beautiful offer once they’re ready to take it up.
