Last week my little YouTube channel reached 30K subscribers. And whilst it's not **all** about that subscriber count...I'm grateful for every single person who watched, liked and subscribed to my channel.

I was speaking to my husband last night about a mean-ass comment someone left for me the other day. It was filled with anger and misdirected. But on reflection, it really made me realise why I bother with the channel at all.

I love content (Insert Oprah voice tone: I looove bread!). I looooove video...and I love teaching and connecting with amazing people that I would not have otherwise....all because I took a leap of faith with YouTube...and continued the journey. It really has opened up so much opportunity for me.

I'm feeling all the feels on this crazy journey. Humbled and in appreciation for the lessons from the highs and the lows.

I love how technology today has democratised content creation. From podcast, to videos to design. If you have a message and you want to create content, you no longer need to go through a broadcasting network or have an expensive outlay to do so.

And before you say “it’s too saturated”…it’s not. There’s still plenty of room for everyone’s voice.

A question that creators ask me ALL THE TIME is - how long should I expect it to take for my YouTube channel to grow to 5000 subscribers, 10 000 subscribers, 20 000 subscribers...100 000 subscribers? And in addition to that, when will I start to see my business start doing 4k, 5k months, 6, 7, 8 figure years? WHEN SARA WHEN?? A lot of advice I hear out there about the timeframes to get to a certain subscriber count on YouTube, or revenue goal in your business is wrong. Lemme tell you this, señorita. Your first few YouTube videos? Ain’t gonna be perfect *gasp*. And guess what? This is a GOOD thing my friend. If you want "perfect" videos, you'll be tweaking and changing it forever. 💖 Your YouTube videos will evolve. You know every single successful YouTube creator you see? There was a whole lot of trial and error and cringeworthy videos they produced. Nobody's first video has the winning blueprint. 💖Imperfect videos aren't a sign of weakness. You need to get your first few videos out to actually test and monitor your metrics. What's performing well, how are you delivering? How are you converting? What can you improve that you didn't hit the mark on? Without this knowledge, you can't fine-tune your videos and make them better for next time. Perfection may be what you desire. But consistent, imperfect action is what will strengthen you as a YouTube creator and grow your biz behind the scenes.
