Here’s a question that’s been keeping me up: If I can create a version of myself that’s more articulate, more confident, and never has bad hair days… which one is the “real” me?
Because I did it. I created an AI video clone of myself.
Listen to the podcast audio
And it’s annoyingly good at being me.
It doesn’t stumble over words. It doesn’t forget its point halfway through a sentence. It definitely doesn’t spend 20 minutes trying to get its hair to cooperate before filming.
But here’s what I realised: This isn’t about replacing the messy, human version of me.
It’s about giving human me some extra support.
Think about it. Like you, I have thoughts and ideas that deserve to be shared. But sometimes life gets in the way of being able to create that content.
My AI video clone isn’t here to be me. It’s here to help me be more me.
What this actually looks like:
- My AI handles the clean delivery while I focus on the content and scripting.
- Goodbye to the 47 attempts at the same intro, saving me so much time.
- I can test different approaches without burning myself out. Yay!
- A world where human me and AI me actually work together.
- More content from me overall that actually helps.
The weird part? Watching my AI deliver my content is like seeing myself through a lens that doesn’t include all my internal criticism.
It’s about just getting it done.
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room:
I know some of you are thinking about authentication, consent, and the whole “deepfake” situation. And honestly? You should be.
Here’s how I’m approaching this responsibly:
- Full transparency. It’s my face, my voice, my content. I’m not cloning anyone else or pretending to be someone I’m not
- It’s a tool, not a trick. Think of it like using a teleprompter or editing software. It helps me deliver my content.
- I control the narrative. My clone can only say what I script and approve. It’s not out there having conversations or making statements on her own.
I know this technology raises real questions about trust, authenticity, and where we’re headed as a society. These aren’t small concerns, and if you’re feeling uneasy about any of this, that’s not just valid, it’s probably smart.
The technology exists whether we use it ethically or not. I’d rather be part of the conversation about doing it right, but I also want to respect that this might not feel right for everyone, and that’s okay too.
We’re all figuring this out together.

See the process, meet both versions of me, and tell me: which one feels more “real” to you?
Because honestly?
This is still pretty new territory, so I’m sharing everything I’ve learned while it’s fresh. The tools that actually work, the ones that don’t, and all the trial-and-error so you don’t have to go through it yourself.
