Facebook has just begun rolling out Facebook Stories as an all-out assault on Snapchat. Let’s have a look at how you can access Facebook Stories to create videos and images.
To access Facebook Stories, you will need to open up the Facebook App on your phone. Facebook Stories appears above the section where you write your status updates. You will see a direct button, and you will see your story if you’ve posted any stories. Then you will see stories for any of your friends who have posted.
If I click on my friends David’s story, I will see the videos and images that he has posted in the last 24 hours. To access Facebook Stories, click on the little icon of a camera in the top left hand corner and this opens up the Facebook Stories app. If I click on the little wand in the bottom corner I’ll then be able to access all of Facebook’s amazing story features.
My favorite one at the moment is this Wonder Woman one. Facebook has a whole range of really fun features that you can use to create images and videos. So I am going to pick one to demonstrate what you can do with it.
I’ve picked the Wonder Woman one and I can tap on the button here to take a photo. Once I’ve taken that photo, I can click on the A characters here that allows me to write some text. I can change the color of the text as well. I am going to click done, and then I can use my finger to move the text around.
Then if I click on this little pencil icon. It allows me to then choose a color and draw. Also on the photo that I’ve just taken, if I’ve made a mistake I can click on the little arrow at the top. That will undo it and I can fix it there. Once I am happy with it I click done.
I can now save this photo to my camera roll. Clicking on the little arrow that’s pointing down will save it to the camera roll. When I click on the white button with an arrow, this lets me choose where I want to share the photo.
I can share it as a post and this will go to the news feed with the photo. I can choose to put it in my story or your story, and this appears in the top section of the news feed that you saw before. It will be there for 24 hours then it will disappear.
So I am going to choose to put it as a post, and as usual with Facebook, you can choose to share it with your friends or certain friends or public. So you can set the security of your photos there.
The other thing you can do is you can send it directly to one of your friends, and they will be able to open the photo. It will be there for 24 hours. So I am going to send it to David Jukicson and he will have the image in the Facebook Story section for 24 hours to view. I am also going to choose to put it in my story section as well and once I click on the button, it will send it to all of the places that I’ve chosen to distribute it to.
So there you will see that it’s posted to my news feed. When I click on your story, It will appear as a story that I’ve added throughout the day for 24 hours. There it is right there, and when I click direct. I can see that I’ve sent it to David there and he has 24 hours to view it before it disappears.
Now if I go back to the Facebook Stories app and this time I am going to record a video instead. So I am going to choose a filter once again. There are so many fun filters to select. Which one to choose? Which one to choose? I think I am going to choose this champion one.
Okay, with recording a video, instead of tapping on the little button, I am going to hold it down. Then I can record a message that will be shared or that I can save. So I am pressing on the button now and this is recording a message during my tutorial of how to record and create Facebook Stories. Once I’ve finished creating the video, I can release it and it will play back the video.
Once again like photos, I am able to click on the text add some copy to the video. I can also click on the little pencil once again.
Let’s draw a little flower the best I can. Once I am happy with that, I can save it once again to my camera roll. I’ll show you how to share this to your Facebook page because at the moment it’s only allowing us to post it directly to our profile. I am happy with that and I am going to click on the little button here. I am going to add it to my story. I am not going to add it as a post, but add it to my story.
Facebook Stories allows you to create some fun videos and photos really quickly and really easily, and it allows you to share it directly to your Friends and save it.
So let’s have a look now at how you would actually go and post this to your business page. So in order to post your Facebook Story to your Page. You will need to save your video or your photo to your camera roll.
So I’m going to record a demo video now and let go of it like that. Then I’m going to click on the down button to save it to my camera roll. I am going to get out of this one and click the top left to get out of the app, and then I want to open up the Facebook pages manager on my phone.
So this is the Facebook Pages App. I can then click on photo or video, select the video and the images that I’ve created using Facebook Stories. I can write some text in my status update section and like any regular post on your page. I can now click continue and publish and this will post the Facebook Stories video and the Facebook Stories photos that I have saved to my camera roll and they will now appear on my Facebook page. And there they are!
So there you have it a Facebook Stories Tutorial showing you how to use Facebook Stories to create videos and images and to share them to your Facebook profile and page.
