If you’ve gone live on Facebook or if you’ve uploaded a video, one of the ways to increase your reach and repurpose this video so you can share it across other social media sites is to embed it to a blog post on your website.
Let’s go over to my computer now and I’ll walk you through how to embed your videos. In order to embed your videos, you need to firstly go and get your video from your Facebook page.
If you go to your page and go to the videos tab on the left-hand side, this will be where all of your videos are, whether they are your Facebook live streams or they’re videos that you’ve uploaded directly to Facebook.
I’m going to go and select a video that I want to embed. This is the video here, and I’m going to go ahead and click on it and I’m just going to pause it so that you don’t have to hear me talk twice, a bit of inception there.
And now to embed your video, what you want to do is in the bottom right-hand corner where there are these three dots, you want to click on that and then you want to select, embed.
And then this opens up this box and it has this code. You wanted to take the entire code that Facebook has given to you. I’m going to go and click on that and copy it and I’m going to show you how to do it for a post in WordPress and a post in Squarespace.
In WordPress, you would go to post or page and add new and you would then go to, not the visual tab, but you want to go to the text tab and then you would simply paste the code that you’ve just copied.
And once you go back to the visual view, there is your video embedded there and that’s how you would add it to a WordPress post, you would copy the code and then you would add that code to the text section.
Now to do it in Squarespace, we’re doing exactly the same process. We’re taking the full code here, and we’re going to our Squarespace site and we’re going to open up a post.
Now, we click on the plus button here in Squarespace and what we’re searching for in the content block is code. Then we choose the option here that says, code.
Now in this box here, I want to delete the ‘Hello, world’ thing. And then I paste the code that Facebook just gave me. Obviously this option is only available to your page, Squarespace page.
This is a demo Squarespace site. That’s why I’m seeing this message here, but I’m going to apply that and that’s how you would add or that’s how you would embed the Facebook live video or Facebook video to your Squarespace website.
Either way, whether you’re doing it on Squarespace or whether you’re doing on WordPress, the process is essentially the same. You’re going to go to the three dots, select embed, and then you’re going to copy and paste this code as Facebook tells you directly into the blog posts.
For WordPress, it’s in the text section and then you’d be able to see it when you switch back to the visual mode. For Squarespace, you want to select the code widget and then you want to paste that HTML code in that actual little widget.
There you have it, a step by step walkthrough of how to embed your Facebook video pretty easy. Now that you know, right? If you found this video useful, give me a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel.
