The GorillaPod Mobile Rig is a tripod made by Joby. The base of the mobile rig is Joby’s famous bendy, flexible tripod.
You can bend the legs to get a better grip for when you’re vlogging or live streaming on Facebook or Instagram. You can wrap the legs around an edge, a pole, or a branch to get different angles and different perspectives.
And of course, you can place the rig on a desk to get stable video when you’re live streaming or shooting video footage. But the top part of the GorillaPod Mobile Rig is where the party is really at.
On the top of the mobile rig, you get a phone mount, which allows you to attach your phone. It locks in quite securely, and you can also use the phone mount to tilt your phone vertical or landscape.
You can also tilt your phone up and down like that as well. This is particularly useful if you’re shooting footage, where you’re drawing or you’re doing a demonstration of the product with your hands.
The top of the phone mount also has a Cold Shoe Mount, so you can attach accessories, such as a microphone, or a light. And you also get 2 arms on the Joby GorillaPod Rig, allowing you to have 3 accessory attachments altogether.
So I could add a light, I could add a microphone, and with the third arm, I could also add another device allowing me to live stream at the same time on 2 different platforms, if I so choose.
The base of the Joby GorillaPod Mobile Rig also detaches, so you can take the top part of the rig and attach it to a tripod, if you wanted to have this set up and a tripod with more height.
All in all, the GorillaPod Mobile Rig really is a quality tripod. It’s been designed for creators, it’s flexible, it’s portable, and it’s easy to use. It allows you to securely mount your smartphone, your lights, and your microphone all in one place.
